The Fontana del Nettuno is also called Fontana di Piazza. It was designed by Bartolomeo Ammannati at the end of the 16th century.

In the centre of the octagonal basin there is a statue of Neptune, also called the "Biancone" which is surrounded by a group of bronze statues which represent the Gods of the rivers, sea horses, and satyrs.

On the front of the Neptune, on the floor, there is a circle which indicates the place where Savonarola was burnt, on the left there is a statue of Cosimo 1st dè Medici, sculpture by Gianbologna.
