Municipality Art Collection
Home > Emilia-Romagna > Bologna > Bologna > Municipality Art CollectionThe Municipality Art Collection of Bologna occupies the rooms that were dedicated to the Cardinale of Bologna, and includes the paintings from the Bologna-school from the XIV to the SVIII centuries, by Italian and foreign masters among which: Luca Signorelli, Tintoretto, and Magnasco.
Also conserved are collections of applied art from the XV to the SVIII centuries, and an important collection of Renaissance ceramics, terracotta shepherds, and a small theatre with marionettes.
The refined environment in which the exhibition is arranged (the second floor of the Palazzo Comunale in Bologna) has been filled by works and furnishings donated during the 19th and 20th centuries to the Municipality of Bologna, which have further enriched the civil collection.
