Palazzo dei Notai
Home > Emilia-Romagna > Bologna > Bologna > Palazzo dei Notai
On the Southern side of Piazza Maggiore one finds Palazzo dei Notai, built beteen the XIV and the XV centuries, with its merlon facade and its double-arched windows, with its small white marble columns, it was built by the architect Andrea di Vincenzo.
On the facade there is the coat-of-arms of the Notaries (on a red background there are three ink-wells and quill feathers).
The Palazzo dei Notai was built in two successive phases: the part which faces the Basilica di San Petronio is the oldest whilst the part that faces the Palazzo d'Accursio is more recent.
