Church of San Fortunato

The Curch of San Fortunato is situated in Rimini, on the hillside named Covignano.

The large monastery belonged to the Olivetan Order, the white monks. The Benedictine origin is testified by the presence of four statues of Olivetan Saints. It was built during the XV century by Carlo Malatesta, and over the years it has undergone relevant transformations. The Chiesa di San Fortunato still conserves the layout and the facade that it had during the fifteenth century, a beautiful Renaissance style ceiling, and a chapel with fresco's from the year 1512.

It also hosts work by the artist Giorgio Vasari; still conserved in the apse built in the seventeenth century is his splendid Adorazione dei Magi.
