Church of San Giuliano

The Church of San Giuliano is in Rimini and represents the fulcrum of the antique borg which rose along the frist part of the via Emilia. Both the Monastery and the Church underwent numerous restorations over the years. The medieval Church has three naves and a crypt and was reconstructed with its actual shape. With the archeological excavations, the remains of the portico and the flooring of the cloister were found.

The Church also hosts the fifteenth century paintings by Bittino from Faenza which portray the stories of San Giuliano, and the alter piece by Paolo Veronese which shows the martyrdom of the Saint.

The City Museum presently hosts the architrave on which Saints Pietro and Giuliano are sculpted.
