The Church of Santa Maria dei Servi was a donation from the Malatesta family to the Servi di Maria, who constructed the first chapel in the fourteenth century. It is to be found in the centre of Rimini and its long flank can be observed from Corso d'Augusto.
The Church was renewed towards the end of the eighteenth century in accordance with a design by Gaetano Stagani which modified the original aspect. In 1798 the Convent was occupied by the Dominicans who bought numerous works of art from their previous seat, the Convent di San Cataldo. Nowadays, the facade one sees is the work of the engineer Giuseppe Urbani, who rebuilt the superior part of the belfry and decorated the inside of the Church with gold platings realised by Luigi Samoggia.
