City Museum
Home > Emilia-Romagna > Rimini > Rimini > City MuseumSince 1990, the City Museum is hosted by the collegio dei Gesuiti which is the work of architect Alfonso Torreggiani. It has a U-shape and is right next to the church. It has a corridor from which one has access to all the various rooms. It is presently composed of about 40 rooms which host roughly 1500 works of art. The courtyard hosts the Roman lapidary, on the ground floor one can visit the first part of the Archeological Section dedicated to the Imperial Rimini. Always on the ground floor there is a permanent exhibition dedicated to the artist from Rimini - Renè Gruau.
Between the first and the second floor there is an art gallery which follows a chronological order which starts in the XI century and finishes in the XX century. Amongst the masterpieces present there are those coming from the Rimini-school of the fourteenth century, opera's realised for the Malatesta court.
