Roma Termini Station
Home > Lazio > Rome > Rome > Roma Termini StationThe station of Roma Termini, dedicated in 2006 to Pope John Paul II, is one of the largest stations in Europe and the largest in Italy with its 225,000 sq.m. It hosts almost 150 million transits per year for 800 trains per day directed towards National and European destinations.
The architecture of the station has felt the effects of styles that embrace a long period which goes from 1920 to 1950, and it also hosts an interesting testimony of Mazzoni futurism in the wing which faces via Giolitti.
Roma Termini occupies a great part of the adjacent Piazzale dei Cinquecento and has two floors: on the ground floor one finds the platforms and the passenger services, including some shops.
On the underground floor, on the other hand, there is a large commercial centre "Forum Termini" which is a meeting point for citizsens looking for an afternoon spent shopping or relaxing.
Furthermore, for passengers there are numerous snack bars and restaurants, chemists, and a customer care service.
