Piazzale Roma and Fontana Bosco della Pioggia
Home > Emilia-Romagna > Rimini > Riccione > Piazzale Roma and Fontana Bosco della PioggiaAt the end of Viale Ceccarini, opposite the beach, there is Piazzale Roma where one can admire the splendid Fontana Bosco della Pioggia by Tonino Guerra, poet, author, and scenographer from the Romagna Region.
The square is important as it is often used for shows, demonstrations, and television events, however the interest of the fountain must not be underestimated: it is composed of six dark green glass columns, the development of these columns make them look like six tree trunks which hold up a structure with fishing nets from which water drops descend.
The significance of the works is given by its designer Tonino Guerra: "I designed it thinking of Summer storms". The idea was given to the Municipality of Riccione who had it realised by the stylist Stefano Coveri with the artistic collaboration of Rita Ronconi, also collaborator of Guerra.
